10-08-2010 Friday Night Lights: Alumni Night 

Alumni Night on Friday, October 8, 2010 as our Warriors take on UW-Madison under the lights, for what is sure to be an exciting match! Kick off is at 7:30 pm at Valley Field. Join us for some pre-game drinks at Caffrey's starting at 6:00 pm to help get you in the cheering mood, and also a social at the rugby house to follow the match.

For those who might be traveling from out of town, there is talk of possibly doing brunch and a Lakefront Brewery tour on Saturday so you have other enticements to come to town. Please let me know if anyone is interested for Saturday activities.

09-04-2010 Marquette Women's Rugby hosts 1st Annual Warrior Rugby 101 Rookie Camp 

All rookie, new players or new players to the team are invited to join the current squad on Saturday, September 4th from 3pm to 6pm at the Valley Fields for an instruction to the sport of rugby and to the Marquette Women’s Rugby Club.

We will teach you all of the basics of the sport so you will be prepared to join right in with the team for regular practices that will run Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6pm at Schroeder Field.  No experience is necessary.

Come meet the most fun bunch on campus and learn the fastest growing women’s collegiate sport in the Nation!

The team will meet at SHAMU (area between Schroeder hall and the AMU) at 2:30pm to caravan down to the Valley at 2:30pm and we hope to host a rookie BBQ after the camp.

All you need are workout clothes and tennis shoes and cleats if you have them.  Soccer, softball, etc will suffice.

Please stop by the Marquette Women's Rugby table at O-fest from 1-4pm on Thursday, September 2nd to get more information on how to join our club and meet some members of the team!!  No experience is necessary to join our club and we take everyone from all walks of activities.   Soccer players, basketball, volleyball, softball players, band members and yes, even ex cheerleaders; we take you all!!!   Stop by to check out what rugby at Marquette is all about.


09-01-2010 Marquette WRFC Hold open Friendly Scrimmages for local HS Players 

The Marquette Women will be hosting DSHA, ‘Tosa and Cudahy High School players for a round robin of open and friendly scrimmaging with the Marquette Women’s Rugby Club this Wednesday, September 1st at 7:30pm at the Valley Fields complex across from Potowatomi Bingo.   Any and all high school players are welcome to come and play, meet the team and check out what Marquette Rugby has to offer!!  Everyone will get playing time and enjoy a night of friendly rugby and learning
